A warm updraft ruffled the light colored feathers across Kira's chest as he soared lazily high above the Northern Ranges. It was a pleasent feeling, at this altitude the air was close to freezing normaly, the world tiny below his wings as he flew beyond the range of normal human sight, however within the range where his sophisticated eyes could pick up movement in the mountain below, which was prefect. What better way to hunt then from above, a perfect view of his prey while remaining unseen.
For that was why he was here, to hunt. He didn't particularly care what he would find, so long as he found something. Deer, rabbit, human, it was all the same to him. Something, anything, just to feel the rush of freefall, the excitement of a perfect kill, something to keep the bloodlust at bay, just for a while. The scar across his left eye, cutting through the black, almost tattoo like mark in the shape of a wing flashed in fleeting pain at the dark thoughts, and he gave a brief hawks scream of fury.
He felt a brief touch on his mind, far below him Fell sensed his excitement.
Don't get to far ahead Kira, and leave some for me.
He caught a faint impression of a wolf's laugh and the presence was gone.
Scanning the ground below he spotted movement, adjusting his flight feathers to spiral slowly downwards in order to get a closer look. Hopefully his prey was large enough so that it would not fear the speck of a hawk.

Selene walked through the trees that carpeted the slopes of the Northern Range, Thalia trailing behind her, on foot rather than up in the air, as she normally traveled. It was a nice, clear day, and both had felt stifled in the Keep. So instead of staying around there, they'd gone out on their own, to the North, thinking they'd not be bothered there. They, of course, were blissfully unaware of the Wing member hunting above their heads, or of the fact that his bond was out in the woods.
Passing through the trees, she made her way to a clearing, a large meadow that stretched across to a stream, before the trees reappeared. The only thing close to a tree was an old, fallen one, struck by lightning some time ago. Selene tested the log's strength, before sitting down on it, as Thalia moved to graze on the green grass that grew around them.

Kira screeched in delight as he got close enough to see what the shapes below him were, a rider and there bond, he didn't recognise either of them, so they were probably in the Order.
Better and better, if it were a wing member it would be inadvisable to kill them came a bloodthirsty thought from Fell.
Kira replied with a mental chuckle, How close are you?
Close enough.
With a last joyous screech, Kira folded in his wings and plunged incredibly fast, aiming for the ground next to the lightning fried tree, snapping his wings out barely five feet from the ground before changing into his human form, teeth bared in a bloodthirsty grin.
"I was expecting a lone deer, maybe a bear or a traveling human if I was lucky, but to encounter a member of The Order and there bond, well that will make this so much more fun." Giving a nasty sounding chuckle he drew his sword, waiting to see the Rider's reaction.

Selene stood as she saw a hawk plummeting towards the earth, its wings snapping out at the last possible moment, its form quickly shifting into that of a human. She would have thought nothing of the man-were it not for the bloodthirsty grin on his face, and the way he spoke to her before he drew his sword. It was a member of the Wing, she was sure of it. The only question was if he was just a soldier, or if he was a rider-and if so, where was his bond.
Selene drew the quarterstaff she always carried with her when off the Riders' lands, standing her ground and watching the shapeshifter closely. She gave no response to his words, remaining silent, waiting for him to make a move. Order riders rarely made the first move in a fight against a Wing member-they usually didn't fight unless provoked directly.
Thalia, having heard the Wing rider's words, lifted her head from the grass, and watched the scene, ready to leap in to help her bond-or fight off the other's-at any moment.

Kira laughed again, his eyes dancing coldly, "Very well, you force me to move first. Fell!" He shouted with both voice and mind, shifting quickly into the form of a massive silvery furred wolf as a black Canid leaped from the trees downwind to attack the Rider's bond.
With a snarl Kira launched himself at the other rider, paws outstretched to force her down and teeth bared to rend flesh.
Fell on the other hand lept from slightly behind the black pegasus, intending on landing on the pegaus's back to rip at the creatures kneck, an ageless wolf tactic honed by hundreds of hunts.

Selene remained silent as he spoke again, her eyes narrowing as he shifted into the form of a wolf. She paid no mind to the other canine behind her either, knowing that Tally would be able to handle it. As the rider pounced towards her, Selene held out a hand, a force field forming swiftly before her, to keep the shapeshifter from getting any closer.
Thalia's ears flicked, listening for the sound of paws, or hoofbeats, or wingbeats, the moment Kira called to his bond. What fool called for its bond to attack outloud? It gave her forewarning, made her ready. Not that she'd be giving the wing rider tips any time soon. Not wasting a moment, as soon as she heard the Canid approaching, she leapt into the air, where it couldn't follow. She floated right above him, fairly sure she was just out of its reach. "Is that the best you've got, dog?" She taunted.

Fell snarled proudly, circling below the flying pegasus, "Not all of us have wings horsemeat!" Keeping his fury in reign he resisted the urge to jump after the pegasus.
Flicking his eyes between rider and bond he lept once more, this time at the rider, while Kira shifted into his hawk form once more, flying at the pegasus's eyes before climing rapidly, his angled wings pumping as he fought to gain altitude and advantage, he was lighter than the pegasus, and although his wings were nowhere near as big as those of a pegasus he had an enormous speed advantage.
Meanwhile fell went for the rider, slashing at the forcefield in the hope of weakening it somehow while Kira handled the pegasus, who did not seem to be protected as the rider was.

"How very sad for you," Thalia retorted. She watched closely, her focus shifting quickly to he canid's rider, noticing him shift from a wolf to a hawk. She barely moved out of the way when he flew up at her, but as he started to gain altitude, Thalia just did the opposite, returning to the ground. She galloped towards the Canid, rearing up to slash at it with her hooves. A little hawk was of little concern to her.
Selene moved back towards the river, holding her shield as best she could-she'd never been great at moving and keeping them solid, though she was working to improve on that. As Fell slashed at the force field, she could see his paw hit a weak spot, his claws just grazing his arm, but leaving a few slashes in the flesh.

Fell dodged out of the way of the pegasus's flailing hooves, continuing to rip at the shield with teeth and claws, determined to weaken it further, snarling in fury and trusting that Kira would take care of the pegasus before it landed a blow on him.
Kira, seeing the pegasus land, gave a shriek of triumph and tucked his wings in, diving towards the pegasus's unprotected back, stopping just short and shifting into his wolf form, snapping at the pegasus's kneck with powerful jaws.

As Kira landed on Tally's back, his jaws sinking into her neck, the pegasus cursed herself for not thinking of such a simple move for him to make. Thinking fast, she did the first thing that came to her mind. She fell to the side, rolling over on the ground, so the wolf was pinned beneath her, before coming back up again and landing back on her hooves. She then snapped her wings out, desperate to get the wolf off her back.
Selene watched the Canid carefully as it continued to slash at her shield. She glanced behind her quickly, stopping a few mere inches from the water's edge. Planting her staff besides her, one hand still on it, she made a quick motion with her free hand, and dropped her force field. As she did, a jet of water rose from the stream, the elemental sending it straight for Fell.

Fell braced himself as the jet of water hit him with enough force to cause him to stagger backwards, his claws digging grooves into the loam beneath him as he snarled in frustration, turning his body sideways to better absorb the impact of the water.
Kira clung to the pegasus's back with fierce determination, attempting to avoid the beating wings. Snapping and snarling he continued to rip his teeth into the creatures neck. "Give up now pony! Struggling will only make you tough and stringy."

Thalia snorted to find the rider had not let go of her back, even after her roll. [Hold your wings still,] Selene's voice entered the pegasus's mind, Tally did just as her rider told her, folding her wings up suddenly, but still thrashing about a bit, not wanting to give Kira any indication that an attack might be coming.
The moment she saw Fell staggering backward, Selene quickly shot two jets of water out again, one heading for Kira, to knock him from her bond's back, and the other at Fell, to keep him away from herself while she was unprotected as she was.

Kira snarled in ager as he was blasted off the Thalia's back, recovering quickly to leap into the air and assume his hawk form, gaining altitude before diving fiercly at the rider, rocketing downwards at terminal velocity, beak open in a furious screech.
Fell let the jet of water hit him, letting his body go limp instead of bracing himself, and using the momentum to slam into the pegasus before turning and trying to pin her with his paws while snapping at her wings with his powerful jaws.

Selene kept her eyes on Kira as she blasted him off of her bond's back. She held her ground as her dove down towards him, holding her staff, waiting for the right moment to strike. As he drew closer and closer to him, she swept the quarterstaff smoothly up towards the shapeshifter.
Thalia stumbled towards the side as the canid slammed into her, but was quick to act once he had. She quickly formed a force field over her side, to keep his teeth and paws off of her. She kept her eyes focused on him, waiting to see what he would try now.

Kira felt the quaterstaff slammed into his left wing and screeched in pain as he felt the light bone that made up the middle of the wing snap. Shifting into human form before the broken wing hindered him further he drew a long, wickedly curved dagger from it's sheath on his belt, holding it loosely so that he could change his position on the hilt with ease, as he swept it down low towards the riders belly, hoping to catch her off guard. His left arm was held closely to his side in an attempt to prevent further injury.
Fell watched the Pegasus with calculating eyes, realising that his claws and teeth would be stopped by the forcefield. His left foreleg twinged painfully in sympathy to his bonds injury, snarling angrily at the pegasus, he loped over to the other rider to assist Kira.
