Selene stood near the training ground's center, in a large clearing. A blindfold was tied about her arms, her quarterstaff held in her hands. She fwas working on using her ears, specifically, using them to sense force fields. It had been Tahlia who'd discovered that the force fields they made had a slight crackle to them, and supposed that other barriers might have similar properties. So the pegasus was projecting weaker than normal fields-ones that would shatter when hit-for her rider, who was listening for them, and trying to hit them as best she could. She hadn't had much success yet, but she was just starting out.
She might seem like she was focused intently on her training, but she wasn't. She was trying to get him out of her mind. He had been a slayer, who she had given her trust to, and more than that. But he was gone now, disappeared, his weapon handed over to the Keep. She doubted that he would come back, but held some hope that he might, that she might get to see him again. But he hadn't even said goodbye, given her any information about where he was going, or why. She thought he was better left forgotten now; she didn't even want to think of his name.
She paused and lifted up her blindfold, to see how she was doing. Two out of five. About what she'd been doing all day. She was about to ask Tahlia to project two more to replace the one she'd broken, she saw a figure moving through the trees, and waited to see who it was.
