Cadelen sniffed and pulled the scarf around her tighter. Esten scoffed as they sat on a ridge half-way up the Northern Mountain Range. Cadelen sighed. "You know you didn't have to come," he said. Cadelen scratched behind his ear affectionally, knowing the full grown griffin would allow her to do so, seeing as there was no one in sight. "Oh, you know I had to."
Cadelen thought back on the reason they were here. She had asked Amara a month or two ago to hunt down a wild female griffin for her. Cadelen of course knew that numbers in the Order were low, but she was dead set on doing something about the creatures she and Esten represented. That's why she had asked for Amara's assistance. She knew the only way to replenish rider numbers in the Order was to have the creatures mate. But Esten would never stand to mate with the only other female griffon in the Order currently: Serene.
Esten knew she was just as much in love with Achilles as Chiki was with Sen. Cadelen and Esten decided to let that young love be. So Cadelen had never expected Amara to find a griffin so soon. Just more evidence of the woman's skills. So here they were at the Northern Range. Hunting down the female griffon. There was a barn back on the outskirts of the nearest town to place the griffon in until Cadelen could be sure the she-griffon was pregnant.
Cadelen had promised to let Esten do what they had set out to accomplish in the wild, but once they were sure the griffon was pregnant, Cadelen would sedate her so they could take her back to the Order to watch over until she bore the Order children, then set her free once more. But to get her back to the Order would require a little more help. Esten curled a wing around Cadelen to warm her as she tucked herself close, before the two searched the land and sky line for the help the Order had sent her.

Sen sped in the direction of Cadelen. He was on his way to be of help to the girl in bringing the female griffin back with them safely. Achilles was with him though keeping at a distance so he wouldnt scare the female griffin, He would much rather be back at the keep with serene but he didnt want Sen to go alone-he was still worried the younger Twin would be hurt and lose his memory again. Sen felt the cold in the air and his lips turned down as he sped towards his friend. Phoenix and Cadelen had always been best friends. But sen and her were close to since Sen was almost always with Phoenix before the accident.
Now Sen was a little more independent but the bond the twins had was just as strong as before. He reached the clearing and stopped running. He was breathing heavily as he rested. He had reached them in a fraction of the time a person without super speed would and that takes more energy than Sen usualy admits. "The fun has arived!" he joked as he grinned at Cadelen [Sen, dont be hyper] Achilles chided through their bond. {Thats hard to do, my heart beats way to fast, my blood rushes faster do to that and it causes me to have an extreme amount of excess energy.} Sen answered back, he could see through their bond that Achilles was shocked at his intellegent response and was now mulling that over in his mind to see if that was correct.
Sen grinned at his accomplisment, he had totaly made Achilles speachless!

A falcon dove down towards the ridge, landing lightly at besides Cadelen. The falcon began to grow and shift its shape, eventually ending up in the form of a young man. Arion nodded to Sen, Cadelen, Achilles, and Esten each, before giving a slight shiver against the cold. It didn't help much that his shirt was cut low in the back, low enough for him to grow the wings of his half form quickly if he needed to. To make up for the missing fabric, that part of his back was covered in feathers at the moment, puffed up to hold more insulating air.
Athera was not within; she had remained at the barn. She didn't completely agree with this whole idea; she didn't know why Esten didn't just court Alephia or Thalia. Of course, Arion had argued, a she-griffin would bring more little ones than a Pegasus. And he could always impregnate the female now, and become the mate of one of the pegasi later on. So Athera had reluctantly agreed to join their little venture, and help make the barn a little more comfortable while he went off with the rest to hunt the griffin down.
"I spotted a griffin not too far from here," Arion told the group, "She was in that direction." He pointed off towards the East. From what Amara had told them, there weren't any other griffins around for miles, so he was confident this was the one they sought. Unless of course, she'd attracted some potentials rivals for Esten.

Cadelen and Esten didn't have to wait long until a blurred movement caught their eyes. Suddenly, almost like out of nowhere, Sen stood before Cadelen with the trademark mischievous grin that Cadelen had missed so much before Sen regained his memories. "The fun has arrived!" Now he was back and better than ever and Cadelen couldn't help but return the grin with a toothy smile of her own and a hug. Esten acknowledged him with a nod. It was a little odd for him. Even though Cadelen was the Griffin Council Member, Sen had seniority by a year.
Cadelen was going to question why Sen's grin kept growing, but was distracted by a falcon landing next to her. It quickly began shifting into the form of a man until Arion emerged. Her heart did a little flutter that went un-noticed by her conscious mind before she grinned at him to and gave him a hug as well. "I spotted a griffin not too far from here," Arion reported. "She was in that direction," he said while pointing off to the east.
Cadelen walked over to Esten and gave him a hug before murmuring into his hide, "make us proud." Esten accepted the hug while grumbling. Cadelen understood, they had had a very deep conversation about this event while on their way to the mountain range. Esten was not comfortable with the situation, but knew if the Griffin Riders were to survive, he must bear offspring. Sen could have easily taken his place, but was in love with Serene and she was much to young to bear children, as was Onyx.
Cadelen released him and Esten moved to perch on the edge of the bluff before leaping off and unfurling his massive wings to go soaring back up into the sky, angling towards the east in search of the female griffin. Cadelen watched him fly off before returning to the group, Esten's vision playing in the back of her mind and vice versa. A tiny speck of black in the distant sky clued her in to Achilles' whereabouts. "Will Athera be joining us?" she asked Arion.

Arion could feel his heart beat a little faster as Cadelen wrapped her arms around him and grinned at him. He had a crush on the griffin rider-something that had taken him a while to realize, and that he was pretty sure was a fairly well kept secret around the Keep, something only Athera and himself knew about.
He watched Esten fly off, towards the east to find the female. He shook his head at Cadelen's question. "No, she's waiting for us back at the barn," He informed them, "She said she wanted to make things comfortable for the female griffin before we return with her." How she planned to do that, he wasn't entirely sure. She was probably bossing around who ever she could get to listen to fetch her things for the griffin to use.
