Mirai sat on a large boulder, watching the tiny waves of the lake lap at its shore. She used her powers a little, freezing the water just as it hit the shoreline, layers of it starting to build up.
It was beautiful, clear night; there was a chill in the air, but it was well past midnight, after all. Mirai hadn't been able to fall asleep that night, and so had wandered her way down to the lake. She had gotten some grumpy protests from Aricia when she'd asked to take a flight, the dragon insisting that she should be in bed. But Mirai had just been lying awake; it seemed like such a waste to remain in bed when not sleeping.

Aidan held onto creons scales as the large dragon sailed through the air, creons ears back to allow the wind to sail more smoothly over them. He hadnt been able to sleep-he hadnt been able to sleep very well since hed gone to get the tattoo, or rather since the reason he went to get it happened. He spotted Aricia first, or rather Creon did-pointing it out through their link. 'Hey, its Mirai and Aricia.' Creon told the slightly grumpy sleep deprived Aidan.
"Lets go down and check it out." he said as creon made a swoop, and when they were within leaping distance of the ground Aidan flipped lithely off of Creons back to land kneeling beside Mirai. "Not bad for a half breed eh?" he said with one of his now rare cheeky grins as he sat beside her. "whats eating you? Its late." He asked worriedly as he watched the river, the banks frozen; he knew that was Mirai's handy work.
Their was a thump as Creon landed and got situated.

Mirai looked behind her as she heard a pair of beating wings, and saw Creon coming down to land, and Aidan flipping off his back. She gave a smile at his acrobatic move, now kneeling besides her. "Very impressive," She said, her smile growing as he gave her a grin, a rare sight as of late. As he sat besides her, she leaned against him without thinking, her side pressing lightly against his.
She shrugged when he asked what was wrong. "I just couldn't get to sleep," She told him, "Don't know why, or why not." She'd been losing a lot of sleep as of lately, most of which she blamed on Aidan. She sat with him every night while he was in his coma, and during any spare time she had during the day. And then he'd run off for a week, without a word of warning, and she'd spent every night tossing and turning from worry over him. "What about you?" She asked, "Why are you out so late?"
Aricia had been asleep, and half awoke as the other dragon landed. She lifted her head lazily to look at him, then settled back down.

Aidan smiled lightly as she admired his 'move' and laughed a bit. "Good, because I practised for a week so I could show off on that one." he said, earning a tired laugh from Creon behind them before the beast fell into a deep sleep.
When she had subconsciously leaned against him he draped an arm easily over her-not realy thinking of it, it being almost instinctual. she was sleepless too? That made sense. She was busy being a counsil member and it wasnt easy getting everyone sorted and ready for their jobs. That and he knew she worries for her freinds, even him. When he had gone into a coma he had been trapped in a kind of wakeful slumber, and he can vaguely remember a comforting hand in his and though at the time he couldnt understand it slight flashes of someone talking to him. He woke and Phoenix told him who had sat by him and he was more than glad to hear it was her. Though there wasnt many memories of that time understandably. He didnt come close to wakefulness for a long time.
He likes to think that his mistake of running off without telling any one was one mistake he could fix. But what happened while he was gone wasnt something he could erase. It was a stupid mistake. He glanced down at her when she spoke again. "Same as you, couldnt sleep-I got enough of it while i was out." He said with a slight grin as he remembered how he woke up and startled Cadelen by simply shooting up and yelling for Creon like he was being killed or something.
the shock on her face was priceless.

The corners of her mouth tugged upwards again as he draped an arm around her, and she leaned her head against his shoulder. She chuckled lightly as he comment about showing off, and then again about getting enough sleep while he was out. "I suppose you've built up plenty of hours to be awake in then," She said with a smirk.
Her eyes flicked up to his face, then back out over the water of the lake. "Aidan," She began, a more serious expression crossing over her face, "Why didn't you tell anyone you were leaving? I was worried sick about you, you know." She was fairly certain that he did, considering that the moment he returned, she pulled him into a tight hug, and then punched him a moment later.

Aidan smiled at her "I know you worried." he began before rubbing his jaw "It still hurts." he joked lightly before getting serious again. "when I was out it was strange, my mind was constantly going from dreams to memories and even halucinations. When I woke up I was still stuck in a strange kind of hallucination." He began with a grimace at the memory of the fog he had been in that led him to believe he had lost a part of himself- his best friend.. "I left to find Creon. I thought he was dead, I was mad with grief." He began again, his voice thick with grief at the memory of the time he thought creon was dead, the misery he felt. The emptiness.
"In reality, yes, Creon was still alive but I was ignorent to this, he had gone to the mountains when I didnt wake up, had cut off our link since my side kept passing no comunication but fevored flashes of nothing. Nothing that made sense at least and he didnt know if I would ever wake up." he continued on. "I hadnt a clue that he was blocking me, not knowing I was up. I thought he was dead and I was to freaked out to check properly-if I had just asked someone they might have told me it wasnt true, that he had been leaving for longer periods of time the longer I was out.. I just woke up from a coma and what I was sure I saw, what I thought happened to put me in the coma was he died.." he continued as he finaly explained what had driven him.
"I just ran. I ran out of the keep and out of our territory and traveled on like that for a good while. I couldnt cope with thinking he was dead. I didnt think of anything but what i'd seen in my mind that moment before I woke up." He finished. Leaving a lot out; though she would probably ask more questions, and he would answer.
Many had thought when he was gone Creon had come with him but the dragon couldnt face Aidans unresponsiveness. and couldnt face the fact that the man may not wake up, might be braindead and had gone. It wasnt odd for Creon to not be around the keep-he speans most of his time alone with Aidan and sometimes without and he had been dissappearing a lot when aidan got so sick he didnt wake up.
Now Aidan and Creon had learned to deal with it differently next time. not to block eachother off for to long even when it gets to hard. It was to dangerous. Aidan had almost been killed without Creon. It had only been a week he was in a coma. But he was sick for longer than that. He almost died once and soon after went into the coma. Creon simply didnt think hed live. Thought it was the plague.

She smirked lightly at his joke about his jaw still being in pain. The smirk faded quickly though, when he started to recount his reasons for leaving, hearing the grief that was thick in his voice as he spoke. She knew the Creon had been away while Aidan was out; but she had no idea that he cut off the link with his rider. It was a dangerous thing to do, especially with Aidan in such a condition. She actually felt a bit bad about punching him for leaving without reason; if she'd understood the situation at the time, she wouldn't have done so. "And after you found him?" She asked, raising an eyebrow, "Did you come straight back, or did you stay out longer?" The Northern Range was big, it might've taken them the whole week to find him. Or it just may have taken him a short while, and spent time outside the Keep on his own.

Aidan looked out over the water calmly-his hand twitching slightly as white fire danced around his fingers, heating them up as the night grew colder. "I didnt search for him, I went off to find some way to cope. I had heard all my life of riders going crazy after their bonds had died and I didnt want that. Creon found me on the last day, wandering back drunk and with my first tattoo." He said with a grin at the memory of his eyes bugging out when he saw the dragon.
"I came back the second I realized what had happened. I spent the week ambling around the elven lands, and even got into fights. It wasnt my best week." he finished as he stretched. Him and mirai had practicaly grown up together. He was born to a dragon rider father and raised just outside the keep until he turned around eight or so and was sent to live in the keep with his uncle.
She was usualy the one he spoke to first about things he did or was going to do. So it was a shock when he left for her. He totaly deserved the punch in his mind and wasnt upset she had done it. It did wake him up a little.

As he light a fire in his hand, the warmth made her realize just how cold it was getting. She didn't mind the cold, really, she'd gotten used to it-her power was ice manipulation, after all. She looked up at him, and blushed slightly as she realized how handsome he looked in the light of his flame.
She pressed closer to him, and nodded as he spoke of riders going crazy when they lost their bond. It wasn't often, but it had been known to happen. Some just couldn't cope with it. She raised an eyebrow as he mentioned his tattoo. She liked the addition to his face, it suited him well. "First Tatoo?" She asked, "Are you hiding more?"
"It doesn't sound like it," She said, when he told her it wasn't her best week, "Don't going running off next time something like that happens." She had known him since she came to the Keep at the age of 3; the rider who found her, and later adopted her, had been good friends of his family and so he had been one of the first children she'd met.

Aidan grinned "nah, I dont like needles that much, I was thinking of getting one. But im not certain of what." Was his reply to that topic, he hadnt realy been putting that much thought into it, only occasionaly here and there he would get an idea and then change his mind about it. Creon had joked he should get Mirai's name. He hadnt given an answer to that other than a raised eyebrow and Aidan ignoring him. He watched her from the corner of one blue eye, enjoying the familiar site of her. She was certainly a site to see. He yawned absently.
"I wont, learned my lesson the last time." he said as he remembered getting attacked by those men, that hadnt realy liked half breeds. It wasnt pleasent knowing it could have been avoided if he wasnt out alone, without a weapon and not at the best of health. It was a painful reminder that some people are predjudiced against people of mixed blood. "And I wouldnt want to be a bother anymore." He finished.
As a young man he had been reckless and caused a lot of trouble, he had changed since then but still felt like he didnt deserve to be here. He has earned it more now, since he has become more helpful. He was good fighter before that though, just to young to realy understand that pranks werent always the smartest thing to do in the midst of a war raging around them all.

"Perhaps you should get a dragon," Mirai suggested with a smirk. It would certainly be appropriate; it would be for any dragon rider. That didn't mean that Mirai was going to go out and get one for herself, though. She'd never been fond of the idea of getting a tattoo herself.
She sighed at his next word, that he didn't want to be a bother. "You aren't a bother, Aidan." She moved a hand up to cup his cheek, turning his head slightly so she could look into his eyes. He had been a bit annoying back when he was pranking people, immature. Sometime in between being in a coma and losing track of Creon, it seemed, he'd had some sense and maturity knocked into him, and though she did like the change in him, she didn't like him any more or less than she had before then.

Aidan thought about it for a moment. "A dragon? I like it. Could get one that matches Creon over here." He said as he made a mental note to get it done. Maybe on his back, or shoulder? His back was bigger, he could get a dragon that wraps around a balance sign or something. More of a serpentine dragon than anything. It would be nice.
Aidan looked into her eyes, subtly leaning into her touch. The way she looked at him told him she was sincere. She hadnt seen him as a bother. His eyes softened and he grinned at her, his face shifting to the side as he reached over her, and gently pushed a strand of her own hair behind her ear and leaned forward a bit. Not at all completely realizing what he was doing.
Creon cracked an eye open and watched with shock, he nudged Aricia so she could see what his rider looked to be about ready to do. He watched as Aidan leaned forward farther and placed his lips on hers, a whisper of a kiss before pulling back bashfuly and looking guiltily at Mirai, as if afraid hed ruined their friendship.
"O my god, Mirai im sorry, I didnt mean, well actualy I did but I.." he rambled on as Creon hid behind a clawed paw and laughed outright. He knew Aidan had been working up the nerve to do that but realy, this had to be the funiest thing hed seen in a long time. Aidan was all embarrased and Red but it was obvious he wasnt really sorry hed done it. It was Mirai after all.
Creon glanced to see what Aricia thought of this as he kept his ears open for what happened next. He didnt want to miss this one!
((Finished. lol Aidans funny. XD )

Mirai felt her body tense slightly, her heartbeat faster as he reached up and brushed a strand of hair out of her face. It was a simple gesture, but something about the way he looked at her while he did just seemed to stir up feelings in her.
And then he kissed her. As brief as it was, it made her heart flutter in her chest, and heat rise quickly to her face. She dropped her hand from his cheek, staring at him as he started to apologize, starting to ramble on about it. She giggled lightly, unable to help herself, and pressed a finger to his lips, trying to silence him.
Aricia woke and looked up as Creon nudge her, watching the scene unfold. "Just watch," She told the other dragon, a smirk on her face as he was laughing.
"Aidan..." Mirai said slowly, her face softening as she tried to figure out how to handle this. She moved her hand back up to rest on his cheek again, stroking it for a moment before moving it down to his neck. She leaned closer, to whisper in his ear. "Never apologize for doing something like that again." She pulled away and smiled at him for a moment, before she pressed her lips against his, pulling him into a deeper kiss than the one he'd given her.

Aidan stopped rambling as she placed her finger to his lips, he waited with baited breath for her to chide him or yell or even get sad. When she had giggled he had both admired the cute sound, and come to the conclusion she cant be that mad. And she didnt look angry, just a little red on the cheeks. Something he must be mirroring right now. his unnaturaly blue eyes took in her appearence, as if memorizing her, and the moment.
Creon watched the scene unfold in suprise. Whod of thought that one sleepless night would lead to this. When she kissed him he oggled in shock. He realy hadnt expected it! He laughed at the look of shock on Aidans face before the boy got over the initial shock.
Aidan had thought hed be yelled at but he was blissfuly wrong. When she leaned forwards to whisper what she thought of his actions in his ear he went still in shock. And then her lips were back on his, and she initiated it! He smiled against her lips for a moment before kissing back, wrapping his arms around her, the moon on the lake behind them was full and gave enough light for anybody to see them.
Aidan could care less who was around at that moment, Sen could come along and black mail him for all he cares. The two seemed content to stay in eachothers arms for a good long moment, and when they pulled away it was more from need of oxygen from the desire to. Aidan for a moment rested his forhead on mirais and grinned airily. Like a goofball.
Creons laughter could be heard in the background too. "Im glad we couldnt sleep." He said with a breathless laugh, it was only partialy a joke. {Im sure you are.} Creon teased. {At least you made the first move. I dare say she was a bit braver} he added as Aidan ignored it. To focussed on Mirai to care. Creon laughed harder and hid his face behind a wing to hide his laughter as he spotted the goofy grin on Aidans face.
'He looks..haha..he looks like...hehe..like he just won money or something..." Creon laughed out to Aricia. Amused at the situation to an extreme.

Aidan seemed to be expecting her to chide him or yell, and she took that as explanation for why it took him a moment to kiss her back, his arms wrapping around him. One of her hands draped over his shoulder, the other moved up off his neck for her fingers to entangle themselves in his hair. All of her senses were focused on him, the feel of his lips against hers. When they finally separated, both needing to breath, she giggled again, this time at the goofy grin on his face as he pressed his forehead against him. "Are you going to smile like that every time we kiss?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
She could hear Creon laughing in the background, and she was sure Aricia had a knowing smirk on her face, but she didn't bother to look, her eyes fixed on Aidan, his face lit up by the light of the full moon. She smiled contentedly, moving her hand out his hair and wrapping both arms about his neck before she nestled her face against his chest, snuggling into his warmth. "So am I, Aidan," She told him.
[Its about time,] Aricia remarked to her rider,
[Sure you were,] Mirai replied, [Its your turn with Creon now, you know.]
